First Peek of Chicago

So something pretty big happened.... I MOVED TO CHICAGO!!! I'm so excited, I can't believe I am actually here, in the 3rd largest city in the US also known as the windy city. I spent my first day exploring downtown Chicago, the famous neighborhood called 'the Loop'. So here are my snapshots, I took them with my phone so excuse the bad quality of the pictures.

Egypt - Gap as Heaven and Earth

Who doesn't want to visit Egypt? See the desert, marvel at the mystical pyramids, explore the hieroglyphics, experience the ancient Egyptian culture... Everyone wants to go there one day, however for the majority it remains a desire. Only few actually fulfill this dream due to the crucial political situation in the country. This summer we decided to take a risk and face this dangerous adventure! And let me tell you it was truly worth it!

Glowing Amber meets Sapphire

Visiting Egypt one thing that stood out strikingly to me was the stunning color contrast of the golden sunset and the cobalt blue ocean. It was breathtaking. I haven't noticed before how beautifully the two colors harmonize, the intensely glowing Amber and the deep rich Sapphire. Everyone claimed the sunrise would be way better, but we were never able to wake up so early in the morning. So we had to settle for the sunset, which was already amazing enough for me.

The City of Roses aka Visby

Gotland is also referred to as the island of ruins and roses which is quite self-explanatory. The next day we got the opportunity to explore and get to know the biggest most historical significant city on the island. My first impression was that the entire city is just a scenery and that we are just on a Hollywood set. It feels surreal, because it's so beautiful. Simply too good to be true! The city is filled with impressive ruins, beautiful churches and lovely flowers. It put a spell on me..

Going-Out Essentials

There're certain things you just need when you're going out, whether for a dinner, a cinema date or clubbing with friends. It's always good to have them at one's fingertips, in case of unexpected events, emergencies or unpleasant situations. You never know what could happen, so it's better to be prepared for any crisis. Even if the world ends, you will be able to look flawless and enjoy those last remaining minutes of your life to the max. I guess you probably would prefer not to carry around a gigantic suitcase all the time, that's why you need these small, space-saving and practical things as....

Monochrome but not Monotone

Praise the lord for the cooler temperatures! Majority of the people are probably cursing me right now but I'm sooo happy about the chilly weather. I have one exam down to go, so perfect circumstances to study. I don't feel like I'm missing out on something and it's easier to study and focus in this chilly weather. But to get my mind off a little I slipped into some comfy shoes and paid the Vine Festival a visit at the Millenáris Park close to the Mammut shopping centre. They had divine vines and mouth-watering burgers! What do you need more in life?

Urban Minimalism

It has gotten extremely hot here in Budapest, it's unbearable... I know I shouldn't be surprised, it's summer! But this year it has really affected me, I think I'm getting older... I can feel it in my bones. Haha just kidding, but I can surely say that there is a difference between how adults and children handle the heat. Enough of my grumbling, on to the outfit I was wearing out in the city for a lunch date today.

Lost in the Moment

While my stay in Croatia I had some time to think and restore myself. This was not the typical touristy trip with all the racing and stressing from place to place in order to see every monument, attraction and sight. It was rather a Wellness & Spa and "Me-time" trip which was really refreshing.

Ocean Walk

The weather in Zadar improved abruptly on our second day and I could skip the jacket, but not the tights. That's still something... I was able to work with that. So I threw on a cute aztec printed dress which can be worn in all temperatures. No matter if it's hot or freezing cold. This dress is perfect for any occasion, well from my point of view. If I have no idea what to wear, I always gravitate towards this dress. The people around me already think I have nothing else in my wardrobe...It saves so much time and effort to have such a versatile dress in your wardrobe. Definitely a MUST!

Venetian Town in Croatia - Zadar

Exploring Zadar

On account of Pentecost we took advantage of the elongated weekend and drove to Croatia for some time-out and adventure. I expected Croatia to be much warmer and sunnier at this time of the year, but I guess we had bad luck. The weather was quite rainy, cold and windy. So sadly I couldn't pack my beloved light and breezy summer dresses and shorts. However to bring some color with me I decided to take my red coat with me. Wearing it I feel like the girl from the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. My outfit for walking around and exploring the city was based on comfort and casualty, given that the car ride from Budapest to Zadar took 6 hours and that I had a terrible cold. I tried to keep myself alive and looking normal in a grey t-shirt, black leggings and black combat boots.

Shopping Paradise in Sweden

Shopping in Sweden is such an amazing experience, it literally takes this pleasure to a whole different level. Swedish designers know exactly what they're doing, they always get it right and their pieces are consistently on point. So if you have never seen Scandinavian design, I'm sorry but where have you been all your life? H&M is probably the most famous and most stereotype Swedish brand which will pop into your head, but that cannot even nearly grasp true Swedish design. Acne Studios, Filippa K, Swedish Hasbeens, Cheap Monday, Whyred, Tiger of Sweden, Fjällräven, Nudie Jeans, & Other Stories, Sandqvist and many many more. Now I take you with me on my shopping adventure and explorations in Gothenburg.

A Day in Gothenburg

The first weekend of May my family and me spent in Sweden due to a big family celebration. We had the whole day to enjoy the Scandinavian atmosphere and to wander around the wonderful city of Gothenburg.

Japanese Vibes

Happy Childhood Memories

When I put on this dungaree I felt like a child again...like my mom would take me to the playground,  on our way she would get us some ice cream, then I would play in the sand and get dirty, play tag with my friends etc. All the memories started to dwell up in me. As a child you were so careless, unburdened and simply happy. Your biggest problem was you didn't get the toy you want or that you scraped your elbow. Ahhh... good times, good times.

Monaco Luxury

Summer is almost here! I can feel it everywhere, it's in the air...the warm breeze that strokes my face, the birds chirping, the trees wear their green garments and I wear sandals again! So many signs are indicating the arrival of summer. You just need to observe closely. The day I shot these pictures it was so warm, I was able to leave the house without tights and finally my legs enjoy freedom!

Villa Bagatelle - Best Breakfast In Budapest

For me going out for breakfast is something truly special.  I don't do it very often since I cannot go out of the house with a hungry and growling stomach. The problem is, when I'm hungry, I am extremely irritable and can become quite bitchy. That's one of my flaws... but it's simply who I am. But we decided to treat ourselves with a breakfast at Villa Bagatelle! It's this adorable white mansion with a garden for children to play, a bakery to get something quick to go and the actual café/bistro upstairs.

Night Out Outfit

Lately I have been really enjoying going to the theatre, it's classy and I feel so culturally involved. A month ago I went to see the musical Chicago and this past weekend Woody Allen's wildly comic play, the Central Park West (in Hungarian "New York-i komédia"). Both plays were great, I had such a good time. Getting ready, dressing up, having a fancy dinner before, sipping champagne during the break and then applauding until the hands hurt! I love the whole process!

Bohemian Festival Vibes

Since Coachella was recently and I watched so many youtube videos on people who went to the festival, I got inspired to create this bohemian look. The festival was so amazing and it seems like half the world population was there in the desert partying and having a blast. I hope one day I will travel to California and partying in Indio. But for now I just party through my clothes.

Non-Tourist Vienna Guide

So as I promised in my previous post, here are some pictures of my one-day Vienna trip. A little follow me around, but don't expect too much. Vienna is almost my second home, I come here every month at least once. So that's why we skip the usual sight seeing and cultural stuff, since we have already seen the majority of it. This time we decided to go shopping and spend some moneyyy! So I take you with me on our shopping routine in Vienna.

The Weird In-Between Outfit

The sun is shining and it's starting to heat up, but disappointingly it's not fairly warm enough yet for bare legs, short skirts and shorts. You really want to take the next step, your fingers are itching to finally grab those lighter clothes and finally enter the wonderful world of summer season outfits! But the chillier weather holds you back and it becomes a heavy burden in your daily decision what to wear. I'm referring to the awkward time period, when you can not quite wear summer nor winter stuff, hence where you have to find an in-between outfit.

Refreshing Healthy Summer Drink

Colorful, sweet, yummy, fun... what I am a talking about? Of course SMOOTHIES!

Smoothies have been really popular for quite some while now and I have been making them non stop. They are just so fun to make, since you have a lot of freedom creating them. You can literally use ANYTHING, whether it's fruit, seeds, yoghurt or vegetables. There's only one rule, be creative and don't be afraid to experiment and try new things. Express your adventurous side through culinary art. Drinking smoothies have many health benefits, such as improved digestion and stronger immune system. But most importantly it is a simple, fast, delicious and a guilt-free meal. Also during the unbearable summer heat it is a fantastic way to refresh and hydrate your body! So I came up with my favorite green smoothie creation: the Kiwi-Apple-Lassi!

Spring Awakening

Rise and Shine! Ever since I woke up this morning I have been in a fantastic mood! We had such a lovely and sunny day, I haven't felt this energized and happy in a long time. It feels like I have finally awakened from my winter sleep. And now I'm ready to flourish and enjoy life to the full! I decided to go the city centre and spend a girly day with my best friend. To accompany me into the city I wore this simple but hip outfit.

A Little Paris in Budapest

Paris, the city of love! Love of pastries and sweets perhaps? Well that, Budapest can offer you as well. I have discovered a cute little french café called Chez Dodo, which is specialized on macarons.

Isn't this display window delightful?

Dress up with Dresslink*

To solve my recent issue I came across this Korean online shop namely Dresslink, which has really cute and affordable clothing! This is perfect for summer, since some trends are only temporary and next year you will look at your clothes and be like "How could I wear this?!". Therefore it's not smart to spend loads of money on pieces you're only gonna wear a limited time.

Now this online shop comes in handy, because their prices are very reasonable and good for people out there who are on a budget (including me). I placed these two items in my cart: a cute tropical print jumpsuit and this adorable bohemian white off-shoulder dress. I have been seeing this style everywhere lately and I am really digging it, so I had jump on the train. I can't wait to wear them!

*This is a collaboration with Dresslink, however my opinion is unbiased and completely honest.

Effortless Black and White

South Korean Exhibition in Budapest

Now that I am on Easter break, I have some extra time and I wanted to spend it wisely. So I asked my good friend Google for some advice. After some research he found this exhibition "South Korea - Asia's Hidden Gems" at the Korean Arts Center in Budapest, located near the Shopping Mall Mom Park. Since I'm very fascinated in Asian cultures I had to check out this photo gallery. As a plus for culture freaks like me, I have good news: the entry is free! But it only lasts until the end of April, thus don't hesitate too long and hurry up!

Zara | H&M | Stradivarius - Shopping Cravings

Are you familiar with that sad feeling when you look through a fashion magazine, and literally want EVERYTHING? But you know you can't afford it... I hate it! Like why do we need money to look and feel stylish? If I don't buy new things to freshen up my closet, I notice I start to feel incomplete and miserable after a while. So it's basically a never-ending urge to buy more and more, new and newer stuff. I wish I could solve this issue... having everything I want without spending a fortune.
But for now I have to resign myself to just looking.

Armed for Sneaky April

It's April guys! Isn't that incredible?! Haha I just had to have the usual talk about how time flies by so fast and blablabla... my apologies. And with April we're not only one step closer to summer but we have to face the tricky and unpredictable weather. Thus we need to brace ourselves and hang in there! Every morning I have to deal with this challenge of finding the perfect outfit, which has to be stylish and adapted to the weather. I'm always end up dressing to warm or too revealing. The struggle is real, am I right girls? So to help you (and me) I have given it some thought and collected a few tips.

Casual vs. Chic

Rosy Spring Glow

To welcome spring I have gathered together my favorite beauty products! I love makeup which gives me that fresh, dewy and rosy radiation. And that's what spring is all about! The blossom of our soul, as well as our inner and outer beauty.

Starting the Shorts-Season

Finally, I'm able to start peeling of all the layers! I already put away the jacket and the scarf. Yay! We're making some progress towards summer! And the most essential pieces of my summer wardrobe are shorts... I have to admit I have a slight short addiction. You'll soon notice in my upcoming summer outfit posts. I have a LOT of shorts! I don't know why and what it is about them but I can't stop buying them. I simply love them. Sooo I'm setting a starting point for shorts.

Let me officially announce, it's SHORTS season again!

Signs of Spring

As the sun was shining so bright and welcoming, I spontaneously decided to go for a walk with my little dog, called Rozi. It's so fascinating to observe the nature and see small changes everyday. Usually we wouldn't recognize them, therefore you have to look closely day-to-day. Spring just pops right in, without any big announcement or everlasting waiting time. Suddenly everything changes and I wanted to capture these slight details.

Manhattan Matt

It's finally getting warmer and warmer, and the sun is peeking out more often! So it's time to put away those dark winter colors from your wardrobe and vanity and embrace the bright and striking spring colors! After mantling ourselves in dark colors all winter long, these colors give us happiness and new motivation again. So when I saw these nail polishes in the store, I was magical enamored. It was love at first sight! Aren't they just a dream? The colors are fairylike and so pretty!

Timeless Kitchen: Robinson

What's this awful in-between weather? It's not warm nor cold, there's no sunshine and only a few rain drops... Seriously this is the worst! Like, c'mon! Weather, pick a side!

As always I brightened my day with spending some quality time with my best friend and food.
This is all you need to be happy! Often we think it's much more complicated and that we need that and this, but in reality happiness lies right in front of us. We just need to open our eyes and find joy in the ordinary. The smallest things can be the greatest pleasures.

(Stole some wise words from Pinterest, don't blame me. Who doesn't get inspiration from there?)

Spring Desire

Argh, I want spring! I want it and I need it.
I think I'm seriously suffering from a really bad condition of summertime sadness disease. Even though it was freaking cold outside, I decided to not play by the rules and just wear a tank/crop top and no tights!!! Shocking! I know, I'm so bad ass. You can't even deal with it.

Japanese Tea House

Drinking water is the most important and essential thing in the world, although many people don't considered it the same way. Water is vital for all known forms of life and covers 71% of the Earth's surface. Also the human body contains around 60% water, so to function properly, our body requires 1 to 7 liters of water in order to avoid dehydration. I wanted to emphasize this again, even though I'm sure you have heard this a million times, but drinking sufficient water can be challenging for many people, including me.

Therefore, to make it easier I like to switch it up with tea, flavored hot water! Lately I have been really into drinking tea and trying different flavors, green tea, chai tea, white tea etc. There are so many delicious and health beneficial teas. And when I saw this little tea room & shop in the city I just had to check it out, because you don't stumble across tea houses everyday, especially not in Hungary.

The Beauty In Simplicity

It's all about that base! To built a good wardrobe, your first thing would have to be to get basics.
Owning basics allows you to create so many different looks. If you have the headstone, you can add the statement and striking pieces. Next step, mixing and matching. Thats what fashion is about!
Even if you don't have the money to constantly buy new clothes for new outfits, by my m&m-theory you can come up with new, fresh and exciting looks!

Coffee Tasting: Pazar

Budapest is filled with unique and awesome cafés. I feel there is too little time and too many new places I need to check out! I just want to try them all! While maundering around in the city with my sister we saw this adorable café and spontaneously decided to give it a shot!

Creation or Destruction?

Oxford University Style

Every day is getting warmer and longer, which fills me with so much joy and energy! The sun makes such a difference in my life. When it's bright outside I instantly feel happier and motivated!
Why is it that the weather affects us so much?

Rocking Edgy Elegance

Hello and welcome or welcome back!

On my trip to Vienna I got these round sunglasses and let me tell you, it was love at first sight!
My whole outfit is based and created around this new piece of awesomeness.
It gave me so much inspiration and a whole different mindset on my style.

Weekend Trip to Vienna

Who doesn't know that feeling of urge to just escape reality and take a break?

For weeks I have been feeling sick without knowing the source of my sadness, but one day it crossed my mind that I haven't traveled as much lately. I detected I was suffering from Wanderlust.
So I treated myself with a weekend trip with my friends to Vienna, the capital of Austria.

A train ticket from Budapest to Vienna (return fare included) only costs 29€ and from Westbahnhof,
the arrival location, everything is easily approachable by public transportation and even by foot.

Lingering through Vaci Street

Shopping is like a weekly routine for me, I'm always on the hunt for new fashion and trends. I don't know about you, but personally I hate these gigantic malls filled with crowds of people! So I'm blessed to have a beautiful shopping street in my city. The Váci street in Budapest is the perfect environment to get inspired and shop without getting that dizzy feeling such as in a mall.

Vintage Garden

I went out with some friends on the 15th of February, yes you read correctly.
We celebrated one day after Valentines Day!! OMG, Shocking News! Not on the 14th of February, what's wrong with us?But that's how we role.
Let me keep you up-to-date, this is the new thing.

Why are we forced to do what the majority dictates and obligates? Sooo we decided to break out of this cycle of main stream and make our own habits and holidays.

You may ask Why? but you know what, Why not?
YOLO (just ignore this...)

Last Day in Italy

Whyyyy, why does the always have to that moment of farewell and endings. NO I want great things to last forever, but I know we can't have anything. So I will have to try to deal with it.

These pictures were taken on our last day in Italy. It was such a great vacation and I had such a good time, I really wish I could go back in time and experience it all over again!
